Comment Fic Meme
Jan. 30th, 2014 09:38 pm
what's a comment fic meme anyway?
#1. leave a comment with a prompt/idea
(a. only one prompt per comment - if you have multiple prompts, make multiple comments)
#2. if you see a prompt you like and then write fic for it, you post the ficlet as a reply to that comment
#3. leave feedback. (if you can take the time to read a fic, you can take the time to leave feedback!)
how does it work?
You leave a prompt. The prompt indicates what kind of fic you want to see.
Anything with a & between two names denotes a platonic relationship. If you want to indicate a romantic relationship, use the / --> Sam & Felix vs. Sam/Felix
The prompt format should be as follows: Character A, prompt OR character A & character B, prompt OR character A/character B, prompt (or as many characters as you want, obviously)
Examples:
Jake & his mom, dealing with a lack of money
Jake/Sam/Sammy, Jake has a twin fantasy and this is as close as it gets
Andy & his family, expectations
Jake & Mike, the unicorn
Feel free to elaborate on your prompts. Being more specific can mean that you'll get exactly what you want, but it can also mean that no one is going to pick up your prompt because it's too specific.
general rules:
- tag your shit (put up warnings for NSFW content, underage sex, possible triggers - you know the drill)
- warn for SPOILERS (episode 13 is only a day old - not everyone has seen it, and spoiling it for others is mean)
- crossover prompts are fine
- technically the point of comment fic is that it's in the comments, but feel free to post elsewhere (AO3, your journal) and link to it from here (especially if the fic ends up being longer)
- contact me if you have a question
- tell your friends about it!
- HAVE FUN!
what NOT to do:
- negate/belittle/ridicule/argue/hate on someone's prompt (if you don't like it, ignore it)
- basically, no flaming or character bashing or anything of the sort
- deviate too far from the prompt (if your fic ends up being not at all what you expected, why not post it as a new un-prompted comment and link the original prompter so they can check it out if they want but don't feel obliged since you didn't, technically, fill their prompt)
SPOILERS
Episode 13 only just aired on January 30th - make sure that all spoilery content for that episode is underneath a spoiler tag. Don't know how? Copy the code below:
Let me know if there's anything I missed. I cobbled this together from several other comment fic memes in like twenty minutes. *g*
